Cherry Red Delicious On A Hot June Day

Red globes of juicy yummy hanging from a tree that buzzes alive with drunken flies and sneaky pincer bugs.
Two boys in baseball hats, moving forward, closer. The spawn of best friends, arranged friendship. The cycle of life continues as they goof around on the same grass their mothers trampled when the world was younger and Pearl Jam was mooning about on tour.
Pregnant friends who crave fresh fruit and swimming pools. A friend who already owns a copy of “The Joy of Jello”, so think of another garage sale find to gift…how about a dish shaped like a clam? No? She takes a million slides from another person’s life to re-purpose as art and this makes me happy.
Every self respecting farm needs a one eyed sheep dog to keep an eye on the kids.
We need a hat to play peek-a-boo with when trees are too tall to reach…
even if that hat sometimes gets in our face and ticks us off…

Kid sized buckets for children under cherry trees.

Reaching for little red gifts on a swarmy warm day at the farm. That’s my gift for today…

  1. This was so much fun to read.
I thought I was allergic to Cherries for 20 something years and we went to a Farmer's Market last week and ate Cherries because I just couldn't take it anymore and…I'm not allergic. My mouth is watering right now. Yuuummmmy!!

  2. I'm not a big cherry fan myself but a town nearby has a huge cherry festival every year. It's right around the corner but in the 22 years I think I've gone once. I think we might actually get over there this year. Who knows? I might discover I do love cherries after all. 🙂
Looks like you guys had a great day!
